This privacy policy explains the personal information collected through HelloWeb’s configured email-signup service and contact route. It describes what the current setup records and the choices available to you.
Email signup
HelloWeb invites readers to “Join the HelloWeb list for practical website guides, troubleshooting and maintenance ideas.” The signup form asks for your email address and requires you to select a checkbox accepting: “I agree to receive email updates from HelloWeb.”
When you submit the form, the signup module stores your email address, a hash used to detect duplicate signups, the signup time, the source page path, the consent wording you accepted and the collection status. The source path identifies the page where the signup occurred but excludes query strings and page fragments.
The module also uses temporary anti-spam rate records containing hashed network identifiers. These temporary records are periodically cleaned up.
The current setup collects signups for future updates. Newsletter delivery and related confirmation and unsubscribe features require separate configuration.
Contact messages
You can contact HelloWeb at contact@helloweb.org. A message sent to this address includes the sender’s email address, the message and any attachments the sender chooses to provide. This information is used to handle the request.
Access to signup records
Authorized WordPress administrators can view, export and remove email-signup records. Newsletter records are also included in the WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools.
Signup records remain in the site’s WordPress database until an administrator removes them or an erasure request is processed.
Your choices
To ask whether HelloWeb has a signup record associated with your email address, request a copy of that record or ask for its removal, email contact@helloweb.org. Include the email address used for the signup so the relevant record can be identified.
Linked websites
HelloWeb may link to other websites. Those websites maintain their own privacy information and may handle data differently. Review the privacy information on any linked site you choose to visit.
